Roof Insurance Claim Documentation
How AC INC Roofing documents storm damage and coordinates the roof scope of work with your insurance adjuster. We are a licensed roofing contractor, not a public adjuster — coverage decisions are made by the homeowner and their insurance carrier.
Inspection and Documentation
A HAAG Certified inspection produces dated photo documentation, a written findings report on a standardized HAAG checklist, manufacturer specs where applicable, and a Xactimate-compatible scope of work. Homeowners share this packet with their insurance adjuster so the claim file reflects what the roof actually shows.
Documentation, Not Negotiation
AC INC Roofing supports customers with documentation, adjuster meet-up coordination, and restoration planning. We do not represent the homeowner to the insurance carrier, negotiate coverage, or determine claim outcomes. Colorado law (CRS § 10-2-417 and SB 09-038) reserves those roles for the homeowner and a licensed public insurance adjuster or attorney. For disputed claims we recommend speaking with one of those professionals before assuming the claim is final.
Common Claim Topics
Storm claims often involve deductibles, code upgrades, matching, supplements, hidden damage, underpayment concerns, timelines, and emergency mitigation. Each link below explains what these terms mean in plain English without telling you what your specific claim should pay.
- Hail and wind damage documentation
- Emergency mitigation and temporary protection

- Repair versus replacement guidance
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I file a claim before getting an inspection?
Many property owners prefer to get a professional roof inspection first so they understand whether there is visible storm damage worth discussing with their carrier. A HAAG Certified inspection report can be shared with the carrier when the claim is filed.
Can AC INC Roofing decide if insurance will pay?
No. AC INC Roofing can document roof conditions and restoration needs, but claim decisions are made by the insurance carrier and policyholder. We are a licensed roofing contractor, not a public adjuster.
Will you waive my deductible?
No. Colorado law (CRS § 6-22-105) makes it illegal for a roofing contractor to pay, waive, rebate, or absorb all or part of a homeowner’s insurance deductible. A contractor that offers to waive your deductible is committing insurance fraud.
